Technical Specifications

Please keep this page as a guide. The AegeanFF traffic team will contact you in the following days to coordinate delivery of the screening file(s).

1. DCP (DCI compliance)

Supported 2D formats:

 a) MXF Interop (JPEG2000)

  • 24fps, 48fps @ 2K
  • 24fps @ 4K

b) SMPTE (JPEG2000)

  • 24fps, 25fps, 30fps, 48fps, 60fps @ 2K
  • 24fps. 25fps, 30fps @ 4K

Supported frame sizes (2K):

a) FLAT (1.85:1) : 1998 x 1080
b) SCOPE (2.39:1) : 2048 x 858
c) FULL FRAME (1.90:1) : 2048 x 1080

CineCanvas system is supported for subtitles
Maximum bitrate:
250Mbps (according to DCI compliance)
Sound settings are following DCP encoding rules
Maximum surround format supported is 5.1 

Please Note:

  • You are kindly requested to use Letterboxing or Pillarboxing when the proportions of your image don’t match the above aspect ratios.
  • When not using CineCanvas, the subtitles should be printed within the image frame and not in the black outline of the Letterbox
  • For encrypted content, please, send the keys starting at least ten (10) days before the beginning of the festival and ending 2 days (at least) after the closing.
  • Please follow the DCI Naming Convention for the naming of the DCP http://digitalcinemanamingconvention.com/unabridged.asp

  • Minimum bitrate of 15Mbps
  • SD resolutions are playable but not preferred.
  • The subtitles should be printed within the image frame and not in the black outline of the Letterbox

3. Delivery Media Preferred for all formats

ONLINE DELIVERY VIA ASPERA/DROPBOX OR ANY SERVER TRANSFER IS ALWAYS PREFERED OVER PHYSICAL COPIES

Depending to the format you use for your film (DCP, Alternative content) you should send it according to the following cases:

a) DCP

CRU or USB HDD or Flash Drive with ext2 / ext3 (linux) format or NTFS (windows) format (*NTFS on windows system formatted) (**NFS on Mac system formatted)

b) Alternative Content

USB HDD or Flash Drive with NTFS (windows) format or HFS (apple journaled) format (*NTFS on windows system formatted) (**NFS on Mac system formatted)
