Join us for the Pre Opening Screening of the 14th Aegean Film Festival in one of Patmos’ most beloved art spaces, the Andreas Kalatzis Gallery in the heart of Hora. An open art space that hosts a working studio and a rich collection from artists who live on the island or have been deeply inspired by Patmos. In this special evening, we will raise a glass to celebrate art and enjoy a site-specific screening of our PopUp short films, selected from the 700 or more films submitted to the festival.
The Opening Ceremony of the 14th edition of the Aegean Film Festival will take place on Friday 18th at Marianna Cinema in Patmos.
At the purpose-built main open-air cinema, we will host a magical opening screening, where guests, pass holders and audiences can meet some of the festival’s outstanding talent to celebrate together independent cinema.
Celebrate the opening of the 14th Aegean Film Festival under the stars. Join us after the screenings for drinks and summer tunes in the magical atmosphere of Benetos, just outside Skala, overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Step into the world of Patmos-based artist Maria Koubourli, whose ceramic sculptures are both timeless and personal, untamed fragments of unearthed dreams. Raw, elemental textures, along with organic shapes, reflect a deep connection to the natural world and a dreamlike inner landscape. Each piece is hand-formed, cast and fired on the island of Patmos. Be there for the opening of this ceramics art show, where sculptures become an echo of Patmos’ land and dreams.

Elias Cosindas photographs the ever-moving body of water through his own body. Immersed in it, surrounded by its constant motion, his camera captures fleeting “stills” within the sea’s continuous performance. Each frame reflects not only a sense of stability, but also motion, intensity, and human presence, felt through the trace of its absence and disregarded remains. Engaging with pressing environmental concerns, the photographs aim not merely to document, but to perform and to act within and through them.

Aloni is one of our favourite Patmos fun spots. Their traditional cuisine and the incredible musicians form a perfect combination of original island music, local wines and a general “OPA” mood.
Tarsanas Restaurant will be turned into an open-air cinema offering a welcome drink and buffet followed by the premiere of Atropia, winner of the Grand Jury Prize in Sundance’s Dramatic Competition.
