Fred and Mick, two old friends, are on vacation in an elegant hotel at the foot of the Alps. Fred, a composer and conductor, is now retired. Mick, a film director, is still working. They look with curiosity and tenderness on their children’s confused lives, Mick’s enthusiastic young writers, and the other hotel guests. While Mick scrambles to finish the screen- play for what he imagines will be his last important film, Fred has no intention of resuming his musical career. But someone wants at all costs to hear him conduct again.
The Violin Teacher
After failing to be admitted into the renowned São Paulo Symphonic Orchestra, Laerte, a talented violinist, is forced to give music lessons to teenagers in a public school in Heliopolis, the biggest favela in Brazil. The Farewell party
The Farewell Party is a tender black comedy about friendship and the difficult moment of farewell. Thanks to the fine-tuning of the two Israeli directors Tal Granit and Sharon Maymon the issue of eutha- nasia is treated with sensitivity and humour. The amazing performances, the living dialogues, the ingenious script and the compassionate, humane and inclusive look of the characters, highlight the movie as a touching, with strong doses of laughter, cinematic experience.
Embrace of the Serpent

Mediterranea
Two African immigrants, Ayiva and Abas , arrive in Italy in the hope of finding a better life, but instead encounter resentment from the locals. The two friends are filled with idealistic notions of Italy, only to quickly discover a harsh reality: They are forced to live in makeshift settlements, and although they are able to find jobs packing fruit, they have difficul- ty obtaining the official papers that will allow them to stay in the country. The men also face racial ten- sions in the community that escalate into violence.

The Labyrinth of Lies
