The winning idea will be produced with a budget of € 25,000 and the help
of WaterBear’s production team. The winning short documentary will then
premiere at the Aegean Film Festival and a network of affiliated festivals.
10 finalists will have the opportunity to join the Aegean Film Festival and
present their idea to RTF's jury..
All participants will become alumnus of RTF and part of the growing community of young filmmakers, activists and artists fighting to change the world and join the teams of WaterBear and the Aegean Film Festival.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants should be born between 1997 - 2009 (inclusive) in order to apply
for the Competition.
All applications should be in English.
The final short documentary should be under 20 minutes long.
At the moment we do not accept 2D or 3D animation, stop-motion or VR
projects.

The Awards Ceremony will take place in July in Patmos Island
during the Aegean Film Festival.
Guest Passes and discounts for travel and accommodation will be awarded
to all finalists, so they can attend the festival.
**All events and ceremonies as well as the final presentation of the projects, will be available
online for those who cannot attend.
INSPIRATION LIBRARY
WaterBear offers a creative library of award-winning documentaries and
shorts for inspiration.
AT THE AEGEAN FILM FESTIVAL
10 finalists will have the opportunity to travel to the Aegean islands in
Greece for the final stage of the competition.
As an official guest of the festival, you will have access to films and parallel
events. Before the awards ceremony the participants will have the chance
to present their idea in front of the jury.
Online pitching is also available in case the applicant is not able to attend.
ECHOES PROGRAMME
Echoes is an international summit that brings together award-winning filmmakers, writers, scientists, philanthropists, environmentalists, entrepreneurs and opinion leaders over five days.
The programme consists of documentary screenings,Q&A’s, panel talks, presentations and workshops, concluding with an annual sustainability summit.
By assembling the knowledge, resources and communicators together in the same location, we aim to “fast-track” projects and amplify awareness about ways to make a positive impact.
